Location Information
There’s no better feeling than landing in the perfect woodland location, and we believe that our site has a lot to offer for your creative shoot.
At Forest Garden Shovelstrode, we have a 6 acre site that includes 3.5 acres of ancient woodland available to hire, our unique 0.75 acre Forest Garden which is home to our large wildlife pond.
If your shoot is particularly large scale, we have available access for trucks up to 7.5t and car parking for up to 15 cars.
We have catering options available for you and your team, making your woodland location hire as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
Should you require an overnight stay, we offer accomodation in the form of yurts and cabins.
Activities
There are many short courses that can be arranged to make your stag or hen parties in Sussex as special and memorable as possible.
Activities include classes such as green woodworking, woodland yoga, African drumming circle in a yurt, or an outdoor massage surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature - just to name a few!
There are also many great pubs, restaurants and attractions close by, including Hever castle, Pooh Bridge and the magnificent Ashdown Forest, so your group has the opportunity to shape your hen/stag weekend to best suit you.
Forest garden Shovelstrode is located in East Grinstead, halfway between Brighton and the south coast.
Traditional English Tea Party: £25 per person (min 8 people)

Forest Bathing (Shinrin-Yoku): 4hrs - £40 per person
Where you will stay
During the Hen parties or stag weekend, you’ll be staying in luxury yurts and cabins within the secret enchanted woodland of our East Grinstead based site. On arrival, your group will be welcomed and then taken through the Forest Garden, (a highly effective ecological system of growing mostly edible plants within the seven canopy layers), to our beautiful regenerating woodland amidst woodspurge bluebells and orchids where the yurts and log cabins await. The accommodation is equipped with everything you should need to cook and sleep comfortably. Each of the yurts and cabins are located between 50-150m from the loos/showers and washing up area. There is opportunity for your group to cook under the stars in the large open fire pit or BBQ, or get served delicious breakfasts and tea parties at the Forest Garden café - whichever you’d prefer!
