Located in a beautiful regenerating Sussex woodland, Forest Garden Shovelstrode is an eco-retreat on the edge of Ashdown Forest where you and the team will stay in luxury off-grid log cabins and traditional yurts. We have the capacity for 6 people in individual units, or 12 people twin share.
Team building activities can be arranged to suit your specific requirements, allowing your group to meet it’s objectives whilst reconnecting with nature, in the beautiful Sussex forest AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).

Activities
One of the aims of our corporate forest getaways is not only to bring groups of people together, or help elevate their professional skills, but also to teach people traditional woodland crafts with a focus on living more sustainably and self-sufficiently.
Whether your group is hoping to focus on skill development or team relaxation, we have a full variety of woodland activities to offer.
From holistic practices such as yoga or reiki, to courses such as greenwood working & beekeeping, and activities such as tree planting, or a drumming circle. Your group will also benefit from some fresh air therapy whilst enjoying time out in a beautiful Sussex woodland.
Additionally, we also have the capacity to arrange many off-site activities such as bike trekking, sailing, rock climbing, orienteering, wild swimming, clay pigeon shooting, golf and trout fishing. Let us help you create a really unique and memorable corporate event.
Traditional English Tea Party: £25 per person (min 8 people)

Facilities
There is no communal indoor space to use, but the woodland workshop area can be used for open-air meetings, activities and spending time together. It is a large tented space approx 75sqm with an open fire pit, perfect for making soup & damper (the most delicious bread ever!), or roasting marshmallows in the evening. The woodland workshop can easily accommodate up to 15 people (with social distancing measures in place).
Each Yurt & Cabin is kitted out with everything needed for self-catering (except the food!), or we can provide catering for any or all meals as required, at the Forest Garden Café.
There is a large clay pizza oven or BBQ which can be booked for communal meals, complete with a large 7 x 4m party tent for an eating area in case of rain.
Badminton, Croquet and Quoits games are available for your team to enjoy in their leisure time!
Ashdown Forest, home of Winnie the Pooh, is located a few miles down the road offering a multitude of options for the keen hikers. There are also some great watering holes along the way!
